One more fantastic Redwood - In fact one you can drive through.

We need to put our flags here as they have caused many a smile and comment. Steve was accosted by a man saying "the waltzing matilda's are here" and took some convincing it was a New Zealand flag.
Having told one couple it was New Zealand they said they knew we were from the "British Isles" as have several others.
On the whole it is explaining it is not the Ausi flag but we have had "Go the All Blacks" and "go Kiwis" too

Fort Ross - An Historic park that was originally set up for farming for a Russian American Fur company. This is the Armory and a Russian Orthodox Church. Everything was really dry as we have had no rain since we have been here.

More of the Coast.

The California coast - lots of rocks and hills.

The trip off the coast was really dry - we went through hours of hills like this.

A fantastic tour of a WWII Sub USS Pampanito- this is the second of 2 engine rooms. We spent ages looking about.

We didnt go here just incase they would not let us out. ALCATRAZ

At last the Golden Gate - and we rode it 3 times.
It was much bigger than we expected.

You're in San Fran already! John is so envious of your Golden Gate Bridge photo; we always had fog, never clear blue sky. Isn't the crookedest street amazing? I hope you loved San Fran, we did when we were there, and your photos and diary brought back good memories. Are you going to San Simeon (Hearst's castle) down the coast?
